Technique Junkies/Mitten State Stamps March 2019 Release
Happy release day! Today, Mitten State Stamps is releasing three new floral stamps through Technique Junkies! I don’t know if you’re longing for spring as badly as I am, but these stamps will help with that. I’ve had enough snow already. Let’s get some flowers all up in here! Lookie:
GOJUS! If you follow my Instagram, you saw the drawings I did of these flowers last year, and I turned them into stamps. The tulip drawings I did last year, in particular, are really what started me on this whole stamp design journey
I painted all of my images for this release with Daniel Smith watercolors. For this one, I used the new TJ release, In Full Bloom, for the sentiment. I wanted to keep the painting super loose, so I used one of my biggest quill brushes to start with, then used a smaller brush to create deeper shadows in some areas to help differentiate between the leaves.
I again used In Full Bloom for my sentiment with the Crabapple stamp. The sentiments for all three cards were stamped on heavy vellum and embossed with Ranger Platinum embossing powder.
THE first watercolor painting that I did in college that my professor said, “YES, you’ve got it!” was of dogwood, so I am very fond of these flowers. I again painted with Daniel Smith watercolors, added some accents with a white gel pen, and the greeting is the TJ Happy Easter stamp.
I loved watercoloring these images, but I am also looking forward to pulling out colored pencils and Copic markers for these!
As per usual, the new release is on sale through March 8th, and this month, you will get a free stamp with a $30 purchase! And….
Don’t forget to get the additional discount with my code, both on the new release and older items.
