Simon Says Stamp You are Loved Release – Always and Forever
I’m excited to be participating in this new release from Simon Says Stamp called You are Loved with the brand new stamp set, Always and Forever, which I received free in exchange for promoting the release. This is the first stamp set I’ve gotten for promoting a release, since they have sent me a die up until now, so I’m even more excited! This is a beautiful release!
I loved the lightbulb image and the sentiment “You light up my life” because I remember that movie from the 70’s with the ice skater and that song that Debbie Boone sung, you remember? Youuuuuu light up my liiiiiffeeee, you give me hope, to carry on…
Nah, I’d never win American Idol.
I wanted to make a card that looked like light personified, so I grabbed some Distress Oxide colors and started to play. Lookie:
GOJUS! It’s really sparkly! The pictures simply don’t do it justice.
The Distress Oxide ink background almost reminds me of a shaving cream background without the mess (or the smell, which I have always HATED). I used Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, and Wild Honey. The light bulb image was stamped on a separate piece of paper with a bit of Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide applied to the top then painted with clear Wink of Stella. I fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam tape. I added the heart cut from a piece of glitter paper and used my Sakura Stardust pen to color the threads on the bottom.
I used the You Matter Background to do the piece I put over the Distress Oxide Background, and I inked this up with the same colors of Distress Oxide, blending them together from top to bottom. I stamped just the “light up my life portion of the greeting on Simon Black card stock and heat embossed with white EP, then cut out using the new Nested Banner dies from the recent Diecember release. I used the You wafer die with some more glitter paper layered up on two more cuts from Neenah Solar White cardstock to give some dimension.
I added some sequins from Simon’s Sunshine Mix to add even MORE glimmer. I love how this turned out. It’s sunny and glimmery and really conveys the glow I wanted. I love this new stamp set, Always and Forever, because it has some beautiful sentiment and images, and it can be useful for wedding or anniversary cards or just cards to give people you love, like this one.
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links from Simon Says Stamp. Buying from these links costs you nothing extra and remits to me a small percentage of the price, which helps me pay for this blog and my papercrafting endeavors, and I thank you!
