Sizzix Tim Holtz Snowglobe 1 and 2
Happy Thanksgiving! I had just placed an order at Scrapbook.com for some new Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas dies, and I decided while I was waiting to get it, I should pull out Snowglobe 1 and 2 and use them again. These dies are an investment for anyone who buys them, and why not use them as much as possible?
If you didn’t buy these when they came out, you’ll want to. Luckily, they are still available. I like picking a paper pad and using papers all from that pad to help with color coordination.
If you don’t have a Big Shot, BTW, today, 11/21 and tomorrow, 11/22, is a great time to buy one over at Scrapbook.com! And all their Sizzix products are on sale 20% to 50% off, so you can get these dies at a discount!
In addition, look at this free product you get for ordering today!
ANYWAY, I had fun making these cards! Lookie:
GOJUS! The top card used Kaisercrafts Sparkle 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, and the bottom card uses My Mind’s Eye’s Jingle All the Way 6 x 6 paper pad.
Just like the last time I used Snowglobe 2, I added the Tied Strings die from the Frantic Stamper. I also used a retired product from Kaisercraft for the greenery behind the globe, so instead, I have linked the Juniper punch below from Tim Holtz, which looks pretty much the same. I used Tim Holtz card stock for all the little parts, which I guess has retired but you can still find it, so I have linked it below.
I highly recommend a Sakura Quickie Glue pen for the tiny window frames and a pair of tweezers to place them. If your Quickie Glue pen isn’t flowing anymore, you can wipe the tip with alcohol. I keep a few alcohol wipes like you’d buy at a drug store for prepping skin for injections and use those to quickly clean the dried glue out of the tip of the pen.
I love this paper from My Mind’s Eye, and I used some of the matching enamel dots up in the corner.
I added a bow using Doodlebug Design Christmas Twine. On both cards, I added Wink of Stella Clear to all the snowy roofs, stars, mountain tops, and moon.
Both the Snowglobe 1 and 2 cards turned out beautiful, and these die sets are a great way of using up patterned paper you may have been hoarding, which I am trying not to do! I need to clear a bunch out, so I think maybe I will just make a bunch of these cards! They are time consuming, but the results are definitely worth it! And if you order today or tomorrow, you’ll get a great deal plus something free!
