Paper Crafts Crew 286 – Simon Says Stamp – Bold Flowers
Welcome back to the Paper Craft Crew Challenge! This week we have a sketch challenge.
I worked on this card at a crop at my church on Saturday, so naturally I hauled almost everything in my craft room to church to do this. Can I confess something to you? Even in the days when I did a lot of scrapbooking, I never really was a person who went to crops. For one thing, I always always ALWAYS take everything but the kitchen sink, and what usually happens is I need that kitchen sink. It’s always the ONE THING I forget to take that I really, really NEED. Luckily, this time I had everything I needed, and that meant my Brother ScanNCut, all my dies, all my ink spots, a selection of stamps, a selection of cardstocks, all my Copics and Zig Clean Color markers, and a few of the many, many, many embellishment options I have available to me. Now, I only stayed half the day, which is probably why I didn’t actually need anything I hadn’t brought. If I had stayed the whole day, my friends, I would have missed something. I live really near to my church, though, so if it’s essential, I can just run home and get it. However, the other thing that keeps me from really going to many crops is with the time I pack everything I want to take and the time I spend UNPACKING all that stuff, I could have made 20 more cards. Really. That’s why I stay home. But it was a church fundraiser, so naturally, I felt like I should be there. The card turned out fabulous…at least *I* think so. Lookie:
GOJUS! I’m still dreaming of spring here in Michigan, and it’s sloooowwwwllllyyyy warming up here, though I understand it’s going to get cold again in a few days. WAH. ANYWAY, I went back and forth about that window die from Simon Says Stamp. Did it work for that rectangle element there or did it look dumb? I am still going back and forth. I think I LOVE it. I’m looking out the window hoping for some beautiful flowers to tell me it’s spring!
I stamped the flowers with a selection of Simon Says Stamp inks and cut them out with my Brother ScanNCut 2. There are matching dies for this set, though, and I have linked them below. I stamped the greeting from the Choose Joy set on some Green Apple card stock from Simon and highlighted the word Bloom with my favorite Sakura Stardust pen.
I arranged them over this white rectangle that I stamped with the smaller flowers. I added some new sequins I got from Ellen Hutson LLC the other day from Buttons Galore & More that I am in love with.
I used the Folk Dance stencil from Simon Says Stamp to create the pretty background.
It’s so pretty!
