Eventful Graduation – Taylored Expressions

Eventful Graduation – Taylored Expressions

I had a good reason to buy graduation stamps and dies this year: Laurel is graduating today from the College for Creative Studies! In the last 4 years, her dad and I have gotten to watch her blossom from an unsure freshman with artistic talent to a skilled illustrator who has found her own style. We are very proud of her, and it's going to be quite a thrill to see her walking across the stage today to receive her diploma.

I have been particularly taken with Taylored Expressions releases lately, and the latest but one had some great dies and stamps for graduation. For the card I ended up making for Laurel, I grabbed some of these and got busy. Lookie:

GOJUS! (YILM!) I decided to make a shaker card since I had the awesome Sunshine mix from Simon Says Stamp to keep in theme with my yellow and black color scheme (CCS colors!)

I used the Sun Ray stencil from My Favorite Things in the background.

I love this little stamp for above the line of the graduates, something I "borrowed" from Taylor's own card on her sneak peek post!

I love this Picture Perfect Celebrate frame, but I turned it on its side and made my card horizontal. I used a mat of brushed gold to create a nice touch of gold under the black.

I used the tiny Hats Off die to dress up the inside greeting, cutting the tassel from brushed gold.

Let's celebrate!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Ribbon Resource, Gina K, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links costs you nothing and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you. Stampin' Up! product links lead to their webstore, so please be sure to indicate your preference in demonstrator if it doesn't come up automatically!

Enjoy! Ta!
